Unlike the more polished and literary horror comics from Warren Publishing, this was pure, pulpy terror, dripping with shock value and grotesque thrills. Often featuring reworked, redrawn, and repackaged horror stories from the ’50s, Horror Tales became infamous for its over-the-top carnage and nihilistic endings.
