Vampirella is a fictional character, a comic book vampire superheroine created by Forrest J. Ackerman and costume designer Trina Robbins. She first appeared in Warren Publishing’s black-and-white horror comics magazine Vampirella #1 (Sept. 1969), a sister publication of Creepy and Eerie. Initially, she served as a horror hostess, introducing stories in the magazine. However, she was later developed into a leading character in her own right.
The magazine was published continuously until 1983, when Warren Publishing ceased operations. Afterward, its assets were acquired by Harris Publications. Vampirella comics, both new and reprints, have continued through various publishers into the 21st century.
